| 1 Timothy | 2 Timothy | Titus | Hebrews | Notes |

Let no man despise thy youth

1Tim.4.5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
1Tim.4.6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.
1Tim.4.12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Labour in the word and doctrine

1Tim.5.17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

Doting about questions

1Tim.6.3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
1Tim.6.4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

Hold fast

2Tim.1.13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

Put them in remembrance

2Tim.2.9 Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.
2Tim.2.14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
2Tim.2.15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2Tim.2.17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;

Reprove, rebuke, exhort

2Tim.4.2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2Tim.4.15 Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.

To convince the gainsayers

Titus.1.3 But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;
Titus.1.9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

Keepers at home

Titus.2.5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

The brightness of his glory

Heb.1.3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

The word spoken by angels

Heb.2.2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward;

The thoughts and intents of the heart

Heb.4.2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
Heb.4.12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

One that useth milk

Heb.5.13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

The powers of the world to come

Heb.6.5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

The Son, who is consecrated

Heb.7.28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

Not made of things which do appear

Heb.11.3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Sound of a trumpet

Heb.12.19 And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard entreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:
Heb.12.27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

Remember them which have the rule over you

Heb.13.7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
Heb.13.22 And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words.
